James Heimer is an illustrator, printmaker, and educator. He loves blotted lines, hardboiled crime and sci-fi paperbacks, and the grit and grime of hand printing. He earned a BFA in Illustration from The University of the Arts in 2004 and currently lives and works in the Mount Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia.

Some clients include: The Baffler, The Boston Globe, The Globe & Mail, Harvard Magazine, Hopeless Records, The Huffington Post, Institutional Investor, Intercom, The LA Times, LiveNation, The National Constitution Center, The New York Times, The New Yorker, The New Republic, PlanSponsor, The Poetry Foundation, Sierra Club, Stanford Social Innovation Review, and The Stranger.

His poster work has been exhibited at The Museum of Design Atlanta, Drexel University, and Civilian Art Projects and featured in “Dirty Fingernails” from Rockport Publishers.
